1 Year Pictures
I'm taking Tate to get his 1 year pictures done this afternoon. We don't usually make an appointment for pictures, we usually just show up when he's in a good mood. However, we're going with a friend and her son and having their pictures done together as well as separate, so we needed an appointment.
Of course, this means that Tate will mess up his nap schedule. Anytime I make an appointment for a time when he's been awake for the last 3 weeks, he changes his nap schedule and falls asleep just prior to our appt. time. This morning, I decided I was going to outsmart him, and put him down when it worked for me...go ahead, take a minute to laugh at my foolishness.
He normally goes down for his morning nap around 9. Sleeps until about 10:30 or 11. That would have worked great. Wake up at 11 for an early lunch, quick bath and out the door. No. Such. Luck. He crashed at 8 am. Couldn't stay awake any longer. He crawled across the living room and laid his head in my lap. Now if that's not tired, I don't know what is.
So, I caved and put him down. In my mind, I re-worked my plan. Wake him up by 9 at the latest, he'll want to go back down around 12...I can put him down a little early and he'll be get a good hour nap before we have to leave for pictures. That leaves no time for lunch. Crap. At this point, I started pulling hair out and realized I needed to calm down and take a shower.
He woke up on his own at 8:45 and again the plan started re-formulating in my head. How best to get a happy baby for pictures? It was my life's new mission. I had to run to the post office, so I figured I should go and get that out of the way. We just got back 5 minutes ago and the baby, he's passed out in his crib now. (For those of you who gave up on the math 3 paragraph's ago, this timing works perfectly! And it even allows time for lunch.)
*Note to self: In the future, when I need the baby to take a nap...drag him to the post office. Works as a non-habit forming, natural sleep-aid.*
I just realized I have no idea what clothes to put him in for his pictures. Whatever outfit it is has to be perfect, these are his one year pictures. They say solids are better than patterns. Most of the new clothes I just bought him are plaid shirts, way too busy. Must go find outfit without waking baby......
