Peace & Quiet

It's 7:11 pm and my child has been asleep for almost 1/2 an hour. Chris is off playing tennis and the house is quiet. Totally quiet. Well, except for Marley licking her chops (why do dogs do that?! Re-tasting dinner over and over again?) and Kaya farting. It's really funny when Kaya farts because she turns around and looks at her own behind with a look that can only be described as a combination of curiosity and disgust.

Back to the topic at hand. What should I do with this quiet time? The living room could use a good cleaning up of all the toys strewn about. I started peeling the wall paper in the guest bathroom today, I could work on that some more. There's a load of laundry in the dryer that needs folding. I could study for my test on Wednesday night. Hmmm...what to do, what to do?

I think I'll just download the pictures and video from my digital camera and then go start a new book. I wouldn't want to waste good quiet time doing something practical.

From today, Tate dancing on the table. What can he say? Sometimes, the music just grabs you and won't let go. (Although, there was no music playing at the time.)

For Shame!

Has it really been a week since I've posted?!?! I started a post on Wednesday, but didn't get to finish it before Tate woke up, saved it as a draft and forgot about it. I tried one earlier today too, and my pictures wouldn't load.

Let's try this one more time! Some pictures from today.

Combing Kaya's hair.

Who knows what the heck he's doing here.

Pushing his truck. ($1.99 at Goodwill! Can't beat that!)

King of the World!

All ready to go play tennis.

Playing at Ginni's House

Taste-testing the frosting for Daddy's birthday cake.

Yup! It's good!

Looking at themselves in the frog mirror floor mat. (Try saying that 10 times fast!)

This is Tate's favorite toy at Ginni's house. It's call the Little Miss Rider and he's not ashamed to ride it!

Alive & Kicking

We're still alive, just haven't had as much time to update since school started. I usually update when Tate is napping or after he goes to bed at night. Lately, I've been doing homework while he's napping and am in class at night.

Tate's really been trying to talk lately and it's so much fun listening to him to see what he'll say. Most of what comes out of his mouth is still jibberish, but occasionally we'll hear a word. So far, he says:

Dada
Mom-Mom/Mama
cup
juice
shoes
go
numanumanuma (when he's hungry)
and his all time favorite, Uh-OH!

Some recent pictures.

'Da Beach & Fancy New Photo Printer

I got a fancy new photo printer this last weekend. It prints pictures that are the same quality and last as long as prints from a photo lab. I mention this for two reasons. 1. To brag about how lucky (read: spoiled) I am; and 2. If you see a picture you like and want a hard copy of it (Mom, Dad, anyone!) just let me know which one and what size (4x6, 5x7, wallet, etc.) in the comments section and I'll print it out and mail it to you.

I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of having pictures of my adorable kid, so please, don't hesitate! I'm happy to oblige!

**Edited to Add** This includes any pictures from past blog entries as well.

Must. Get. Out. of. HOUSE!!!

After being cooped up in the house for something like 17 straight days with these nasty colds, we decided to take a trip to the park today. Kim & Ginni are sick too, so why not spread the germ love?

It was 77 degrees and it felt wonderful. Even though I had to breathe the fresh air through my mouth because my nose was so stuffed up, it was worth it. Apparently, it wore Tate out something fierce, because it's now almost 3 hours later and he's still sleeping.

Climbing up the slide. He's quite the old pro at this trick.

The tongue.

Tongue II, the sequel

On top of the world.

Bubble boy.

Play the drum everyone, play the drum!

It's not like it was just Christmas and my child was spoiled rotten with tons of toys. No, I had to buy him a new toy. We were at Target the other day and I saw this drum/music set on clearance for only $10. Everyone knows my rule, "If it's on sale, you have to buy it!"

I knew he would love it, and I was right. Click the picture to watch the video. It's really, really funny if you watch it in fast forward.

Now we're trying to learn that drumsticks are only for banging on the drum, not on Mommy, Daddy, Marley, Kaya, Keetah, the metal garbage can, the television, the stove, the metal garbage can, his crib slats, in the dogs water, oh, and did I mention on the metal garbage can?

Snot, sleeping and bananas. (Gross picture - not for the faint)

And by snot, sleeping, I mean green, boogery snot and sleeping. I don't mean he'(snot) sleeping. The boy is sick. And when I say sick, I mean I've never seen so much green snot come out of such a small person in such a short periof of time. (Try saying that one 10x fast.)

I'll put the snot picture at the bottom...scroll down at your own risk.

That's the way I sleep too.

Folded in half. It's so very cozy. You should try it sometime.

Doesn't eveyone go to the beach in January?

The weather has been beautiful lately - 75 degrees. So, we decided to cruise on over to the beach.

Tate & his friend Tyler. Tate is taller than all of his friends. Even the twins are almost 3 months older than him, and he's still taller.

Driving his truck down by the water.

Stuck in a hole.

Carrying his truck.

Yet more with the truck. Obsessed much?
