Appropriate t-shirt, and oh yeah, a tantrum.

I found this shirt at Target today and thought it oh so appropriate. Obviously, the boy won't hold still long enough for me to take a picture of it. It says, "I'm definitely up to something."

(I bought another one with a stick figure falling that says "I do my own stunts." Chris said I should have bought that one for Payton!)

And just for future blackmail purposes...a minor tantrum.

When Daddy's in Charge

This is what I come home too. Soaking wet, muddy, drinking a slurpy and having a great time.

On the mend.

Yesterday was a day full of throw up and full diapers (if you know what I mean). Tate got some sort of stomach bug. Luckily, (if there can be a luckily) he got it only 20 minutes into our 3 hour drive to go see Laycee. We were all bummed we had to turn around, but it would have been much worse to get it on hour 2. His car seat was soaked, we'd gone through both extra outfits I brought and decided to call it a day and go home. It was a good thing we did because he was throwing up every 10 minutes from there on out.

He's eating and drinking today and right back to his mischief making self.

Testing the grill for cooking on later.

Playing with his Dr's office toy. I don't know what those things are called, a bead maze? Every kids' Dr's office I've ever been to has them so I call it his Dr's office toy.

Surprise, surprise. Pushing something over to the baby gate to see the dogs.

Busted!

I got nothin'.

No witty title, no cute stories. Well, I have them, I just don't have the oomph in me to type them out. So for now, just a whole lot of pictures.

Torturing the cat.

"Hey Ginni, whatcha eatin'? Wanna share?"

My little dare-devil. He also climbs right up into his high chair and gives me a heart attack in the process.

Something was clearly very, very funny.

Pure mischief.

Guest starring Payton!

Riding on the dump truck at the beach.

Mean Uncle John was trying to pull him down. Right after this picture was taken a rat with wings, I mean a seagull stole that sandwich right out of Tate's hand. Swooped down and just stole it!

Practicing his downward facing dog.

Testing out the swings with Payton.

The only way to make him stop crying this close to bedtime. Push him down the slide!

It's all fun and games until somebody gets kicked in the head.

Obviously, Marley really didn't kick Tate in the head. He was mad because he wasn't as comfortable with her foot that was as he'd been before.

Winter is winter

It doesn't matter where you live, winter is winter. A Florida winter might not have snow and frigid temperatures, but we still get colds and flus and sickness like everywhere else.

Tate has been battling one thing after another since the beginning of January. A cold, which turned into croup, which turned into bronchitis, which became another cold and then onto a double ear infection...you get my point.

Finally, on Wednesday, we went in for a follow up and were given the all clear. He's still on the nebulizer, but only one medicine has to be nebbed, not two.

Wouldn't you know, that that night around midnight, he was burning up with fever. Not even 24 hours of being 'healthy' and he's sick again! All day Thursday I gave him Tylenol and Motrin to bring down his temp, but I never could get it below 102.

Around 6:15, he was so lethargic, just flopped on the couch next to Chris that I picked him up to go put him in bed. He was burning up. I took his temp and had to look twice when I read 105.1. I didn't even know it could go that high!

We put him in the car and went right to the ER. He had been fighting me on drinking all day and had only had about 4 oz. total. And no wet diapers.

We finally got it back down to 102 and came home. The ER Dr wanted to start him on antibiotics for his ears, but I knew his ear wasn't infected. He said they could be infected. But he had just been given the all clear 24 hours before from our pediatrician who I know and trust a lot more than an ER Dr who is probably just looking for an easy reason for the fever. We opted to not take the antibiotics and came home.

All day Friday he was feverish and lethargic. We went to the Dr in the morning and had bloodwork and a chest x-ray done and gave a urine sample so they can rule everything out.

This morning, Saturday, his fever was back up to 104.9. We put him in a tepid bath and started alternating Tylenol and Motrin again, every 2-3 hours. He's so cranky and fussy and whiny. He still won't eat anything and he's starting to look skinny. He drank a little more today, but not enough for my liking.

Still no reason for the fever. Hopefully he'll wake up tomorrow good as new.

Valentine's Day

Kim and I hosted a playgroup/party at her house. It was buckets o' fun.

Holy Crap, my kid is cute.

Just now I heard Tate wake up from his nap yelling "UH OH! UH OH! Mom-mom! UH OH!" I went in to see what was so uh oh and he was hitting his aquarium toy that plays music, while still yelling UH OH!

The batteries had died in his aquarium and it wasn't playing music anymore when he tried to turn it on. An uh oh for sure!

Swim lessons

Sorry for the lack of updates this week. It's been a crazy week. I'm feeling a thousand times better and actually ventured out of the house for Tate's swim lesson yesterday. I couldn't get in the pool, but I got lots of great pictures.

All ready to swim!

Splashing Daddy

"Hey look! It's my Ginni-girl!"

"I don't know about you Dad, but I'm d-o-n-e."

Getting his neb on

Tate just can't seem to kick this sickness he's had since the beginning of January. It started out as a cold, then turned into croup, then the croup settled in his chest, then he got a double ear infection and now a cold again, which is causing breathing problems. He's back on the nebulizer which he was on 2 weeks ago when the croup first settled into his chest.

He's finally not fighting me on it and even holding it himself. My poor sick boy.

He figures if the cat can sit in the windowsill, why can't he?

Reading People magazine. That's a picture of Dr. Phil. Right after I took this, he bent over and licked Dr. Phil. Somebody has a crush!

"Yeah that's right, I just licked Dr. Phil. Whaddya gonna do about it?"

Tubby time, practicing his kicking for swim lessons.
